Objectives of this role: 

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround time 

  • Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action

  • Is well adept with the latest trends, language, tone and pop-culture 

  • Comfortably vary voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by the industry, company, or target audience at hand 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and client-related industry trends 

  • Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistent messaging.


Key responsibilities:

  • Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts through execution on assigned brands

  • Research and understand the client's needs and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings 

  • Collaborate with account managers, media teams and external stakeholders such as influencers, influencer manager agencies, production houses, etc from concept development to delivery of the final content piece

  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to the internal team, and to client representative as needed, and participate in client pitches on occasion 

  • Write clear, attractive copy with a distinct voice that’s best suits the client and the target audiences

  • Collaborate with designers, PR, and other professionals on large- and small-scale marketing projects (e.g. email campaigns and landing pages) 

  • Edit and proofread copy as needed 

  • Use SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach 

  • Source images and other content



Skills:

  • 2-3 years of experience in copy at a digital agency 

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts while working on new pitches 

  • Ability to understand client’s needs/ brief ask to craft sharp creatives and captions

  • Have a sound understanding of the social media platforms, real-time trends, influencer marketing and a good grasp on consumer behavior/ content consumption on socials.

  • Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in mass media/advertising/marketing or a related discipline

 

Qualifications and Prior Experience:

  • Proven experience as a copywriter at a digital agency. Experience in having worked on a youth centric/ dating app will be beneficial 

  • An active personal/ personally managed social media page (Instagram, Twitter) 

  • Creative ideation spanning across social media content (posts, activities, influencer marketing)

  • Knowledge of online content strategy and creation

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills 

  • Experience with SEO is Preferred

  • Strong research skills 

  • Creativity 

  • Collaborative spirit 

  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills 

  • BMM/ BSc/ BA in marketing, English, journalism, or related field
